At GDM, the circular economy is not just a trend, but a fundamental pillar of our business philosophy. Our activities in the industrial maintenance of servo systems, robotics and industrial electronics enable us to contribute directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDGs 9, 13 and 15. Through our work, we extend the useful life of equipment, reduce waste generation and minimise environmental impact, thus promoting a more sustainable production model.

In a previous article, we told you about GDM‘s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, and now we’re going to take a closer look at a very important idea in this context. The circular economy is at the heart of our business.

economía circular - ODS 9Innovation and sustainable development in industry (SDG 9).

SDG 9 promotes innovation and industrial modernisation with a sustainable approach. For GDM, this means using advanced technologies to maintain and repair industrial systems, avoiding the need to manufacture new components. By refurbishing servo systems and electronic equipment, we reduce the demand for materials and promote a more efficient industrial ecosystem.

Our commitment to the circular economy also leads us to research new repair and refurbishment techniques and continuously improve our processes. In this way, we contribute to sustainability without compromising the quality and reliability of industrial equipment.

Economía Circular - ODS 13Reduce carbon footprint (SDG 13).

Climate change is a global challenge and at GDM we take responsibility for minimising our carbon footprint. By extending the life of industrial equipment, we reduce the need to manufacture new equipment, which means less energy and natural resources used in the manufacturing process.

We also optimise the operation of repaired equipment to improve its energy efficiency, reducing power consumption and CO2 emissions. We take SDG 13 as a tangible commitment and apply solutions that have a direct impact on climate change mitigation.

Conserve terrestrial ecosystems (SDG 15).

SDG 15 aims to protect and restore terrestrial ecosystems. At GDM, we keep thousands of electronic components out of landfills, reducing soil and water pollution from industrial waste.

We also promote the reuse of materials and responsible waste management, ensuring that industrial processes are more environmentally friendly. Through our practices, we support the conservation of natural resources and promote an industrial model aligned with the circular economy.
